Jade was tossing and turning as her demons tormented her. Jaden sat quietly and patiently as Ruby got on the bed next to Jade and laid her head on her chest. When Jade was resting normally, Ruby indicated that Jaden could come up on the bed too. He climbed on the other side of the bed, trying not to disturb Jade's rest.

After awhile, Ruby thought it was about time for Jade to wake up. "Wakey, wakey, little tigress. Want to play?" Ruby asked and gently shook Jade awake. Jade opened her eyes to find Ruby on one side of her and Jaden on the other.

"What, where am I?" asked Jade sleepily as she took in the scene around her. Blinking, she realized she was in Captain Chuck's room, and she tried to sit up quickly.

Ruby and Jaden caught her as she fell backwards again, then slowly helped Jade into a sitting position. Jade's demons awoke and she snapped and snarled at Jaden's touch. Jaden looked at Jade, suprised at the ferocity of her snarls, and saw something primal in her face that scared him.

Realizing that some greater forces were at play, he slowly let go of her and backed off the bed to sit on the floor and wait.

Jade's demons relaxed with Ruby next to her, and Jade tried to get them under control.
