Awesome CP! Was the implement of chastisement a three tailed tawse. You folks in the UK appear to be into the tawse which was never used in the schools here. In the public schools they preferred the paddle whereas the good sisters in the parochial schools were extremely eclectic. The nuns would use anything from pointers to rulers to belts to ping pong paddles to razor strops! I never knew any two to ever use the same thing.
