As I laid under the covers, I knew every part of me hurt and even worse there was no sign of Rose. I washed very slowly and dressed carefully. Even wearing soft wool socks made my feet hurt and getting my shoes on was agony. As I dressed, I noticed the folded paper on the table. I read the warning to stay away from the barn and the dungeon. I also read that I was expected to attend the pool after breakfast to 'learn some new things'.

I shivered again and headed for the kitchen, feeling very apprehensive about the idea of the pool. It was big deep and full of ice cold water.
